Mohamed Ali Larbi: Algerian defender joins CR Temouchent on free transfer
Algerian centre-back Mohamed Ali Larbi has joined CR Temouchent on a free transfer from ASM Oran. The 30-year-old defender arrives as a permanent signing for the Ligue 1 side after his contract with ASM Oran came to an end.
Larbi, who was born in Es Senia and plays primarily as a right-footed central defender, switches clubs within Algeria for the second successive summer, having only returned to ASM Oran in 2025, also on a free transfer. His move to CR Temouchent was completed on 9 July 2026.
The experienced defender has built a career across several Algerian clubs, including spells with ES Setif, ES Mostaganem and RC Kouba before rejoining ASM Oran. Earlier in his career he featured for CRM Bouguirat prior to his first move to Oran in 2019.
During his time at ES Setif, Larbi reached a highest recorded market value of 150,000, reflecting his status as a regular performer in the domestic game. He has also featured in Algerias top flight and domestic cup competitions, accumulating league and cup minutes that underline his experience at national level.
CR Temouchents move for Larbi adds an established Ligue 1 defender to their squad as they prepare for the new campaign. The transfer sees the centre-back return to top-flight action with another Algerian club following his latest stint with ASM Oran.
