Moghreb Tetouan seal return to Botola Pro after crucial victory over Racing Casablanca
Moghreb Tetouan have officially secured promotion back to the Botola Pro after a vital 2-0 away victory against Racing Casablanca on Saturday.
The result confirmed a dramatic shift for both clubs, with Tetouan earning a return to Morocco’s top flight while Racing Casablanca suffered relegation to the amateur division.
Tetouan Clinch Promotion With Game to Spare
The win moves Moghreb Tetouan onto 50 points in second place, enough to mathematically guarantee promotion with one round of fixtures still remaining in the season.
Their closest challengers, Chabab Khénifra, failed to keep pace after being held to a 1-1 draw by Union Oujda. That result left Khénifra six points behind Tetouan and officially ended their hopes of automatic promotion.
After an intense campaign in the second division, Tetouan’s return to the Botola Pro marks an important achievement for one of Morocco’s well-known football clubs.
Wydad Temara Continue Remarkable Campaign
Wydad Temara, who had already confirmed promotion earlier, maintained their impressive form with a narrow 1-0 away victory against Stade Marocain.
The result takes their tally to 53 points and keeps them three points clear at the top of the standings heading into the final matchday of the season.
With both promotion spots now decided, attention will shift to the battle for the league title between Wydad Temara and Moghreb Tetouan.
Khénifra Miss Opportunity
Chabab Khénifra were unable to apply pressure in the promotion race after dropping points against Ittihad Oujda.
The draw leaves them on 44 points in third position, ending any realistic hopes of overtaking the top two sides before the end of the campaign.
Relegation Battle Remains Open
At the bottom of the table, Raja Beni Mellal boosted their survival hopes with an important 2-0 victory against Chabab Mohammedia.
The win lifts Raja Beni Mellal to 30 points, although they remain in the second-to-last position heading into a decisive final round of fixtures.
Chabab Mohammedia stay on 33 points in thirteenth place following the defeat, while Ittihad Abi Jaad remain fourteenth with 32 points after their draw against Chabab Benguerir.
With promotion now settled, the final matchday is expected to deliver more drama as clubs continue battling to avoid relegation.
