Mkhululi Ncube: Okecie add South Africa midfielder after Tatra Sokolany exit

South Africa midfielder Mkhululi Ncube has joined Okecie from Slovakian side Tatra Sokolany on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old, who plays as a defensive midfielder, made the move on 26 August 2026 after less than six months with Tatra Sokolany. He joined the Slovakian club in March following a period without a club.

Ncube was born in Johannesburg and stands 1.84m tall. His recent playing record includes 24 appearances in Kategoria e Pare, alongside six outings for an under-21 side in which he scored three goals.

The move to Okecie adds another change of club to a career that has included spells in both South Africa and eastern Europe. Before arriving at Tatra Sokolany, Ncube had played for KS Besa and Mitrovica, with his transfer to KS Besa from Mitrovica completed as a free move in January 2024.

His earlier career in South Africa included periods with Baberwa FC, All Stars, Maccabi FC and Golden Arrows. He also played for Lamontville Gold before moving to Golden Arrows in 2016, beginning a sequence of club changes that later took him abroad.

Ncube’s arrival at Okecie follows his latest free transfer, with no contract expiry date or transfer fee specified for the deal. The Polish club is the latest destination for the Johannesburg-born midfielder as he continues his career across different footballing environments.

The move from Tatra Sokolany to Okecie was completed on 26 August 2026.
