Missi Semugera: Uganda midfielder joins Kitara on free transfer from SC Villa Jogoo

Ugandan midfielder Missi Semugera has joined Uganda Premier League side Kitara on a free transfer from SC Villa Jogoo. The 27-year-old central midfielder has agreed a deal running until 30 June 2028 with the Hoima-based club.

Semugera arrives with solid top-flight experience, having made 49 appearances in the Uganda Premier League. Operating primarily as a central midfielder, he has scored once in the competition while accumulating more than 3,700 minutes of league football.

The move keeps Semugera in familiar surroundings, as he switches from one of the league’s established names in SC Villa Jogoo to a Kitara side looking to strengthen their midfield options. His current estimated market value stands at €150,000, underlining the significance of securing his services without a transfer fee.

Semugera also brings trophy-winning pedigree, having lifted the FUFA Super 8 Cup once in his career. That achievement adds a measure of experience in pressure situations which Kitara will hope to draw upon over the course of his two-year contract.

With the move confirmed for the 2026-27 season, Semugera becomes one of Kitara’s key midfield additions as the club prepares for its next Uganda Premier League campaign.
