The second division football league resumes in Upper Egypt’s Group 1 with a single match scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, February 2nd.
The Minya Sporting Club will face off against Tersana Sporting Club at Minya University Stadium, a fixture postponed from the eleventh week of the league. Other teams in the group will have mandatory rest.
Tersana currently leads the group with 26 points, while Minya sits in the fourth position with 16 points after the completion of the twelfth week’s matches.
Tersana aims to maintain its group leadership to qualify for the playoffs for the professional league, while Minya seeks victory to enhance its position in the group standings.
During the break, the other seven teams in the group engaged in friendly matches with second division clubs.
This was done to preserve the players’ physical fitness and prepare them for upcoming matches.
The group witnesses intense competition at the bottom among four teams: Al-Wasity, Shabab Maghagha, Telephones of Beni Suef, and Beni Mazar.
They are striving to avoid relegation to the third division and secure their place in the second division.
The thirteenth-week matches are scheduled for Friday, February 9th, featuring Fayoum against Tersana, Al-Wasity against Beni Mazar, Shabab Maghagha against Najm Misr, and Minya against Shabab Tameya. Meanwhile, Telephones of Beni Suef will have a mandatory rest.
