Millwall FC have officially confirmed the signing of London-born Ghanaian winger Benicio Baker-Boaitey from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old joins the English Championship side after spending the first half of the current season on loan at League Two team Port Vale FC.

The club announced that Baker-Boaitey has signed a long-term contract, making him the sixth addition to Millwall’s squad during the January transfer window.

An official statement expressed the club’s excitement, stating, “Millwall Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Benicio Baker.”

Sporting director Steve Gallen expressed his enthusiasm for the new arrival, describing Baker-Boaitey as “an exciting prospect” who brings pace and skill to the team.

He highlighted Baker-Boaitey’s experience in the Premier League and his loan spell in League Two as valuable assets for his development.

Baker-Boaitey, who joined Brighton from FC Porto in 2022, has not yet secured a regular spot in the first team but previously made 14 appearances for Brighton’s U21 side this season.

Despite representing England at youth levels, he remains eligible to play for the Ghana national team due to his heritage.
