Millwall manager Alex Neil has expressed confidence in the future of Algerian winger Camiel Neghli, following the player’s winter arrival from Sparta Rotterdam.
The 23-year-old, who is also an Algerian U23 international, has made two appearances for the Championship club since his move.
His most recent outing was a home match on Saturday, where Neil saw enough promise to predict a successful career for the young winger.
“We spent a lot of money on Camiel,” Neil said, reflecting on the club’s investment in the player.
“I think he’s a very gifted player technically. I think it’s going to take him a while to get to the physical level of the Championship, but what you could see were those flashes of moments where he was landing on the ball.”
Neil believes Neghli’s potential will shine through as he adjusts to the rigours of English football. “Camiel will be a very good player,” Neil added.
“Technically he is super equipped and tactically he is also very good because he comes from Dutch football.
Camiel will be a very good player for this club, I have no doubt about that. He will just need some time to adapt.”
Despite his relatively short time at Millwall, Neghli has shown glimpses of his talent, impressing Neil with his technical skills and adaptability.
The winger’s experience in Dutch football is expected to aid his development as he adjusts to the Championship’s more physical style of play.
The club’s investment in Neghli highlights their belief in his long-term potential.
While the Algerian’s early performances have been limited, Neil’s faith in the player’s abilities suggests that Millwall has high hopes for his future contributions.
As Neghli continues to settle into life at Millwall, his progress will be closely monitored by both Neil and the club’s supporters.
With time, the Algerian talent is expected to find his rhythm, providing Millwall with a dynamic attacking option as they push forward in their league campaign.
