Mikel Obi charges Nigeria to secure AFCON 2025 title in Morocco
Former Nigeria international John Mikel Obi has charged the Super Eagles to annex the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco.
The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to take place in the North African country between December 2025 and January 2026, with 24 nations set to battle it out for the covetous trophy.
However, the former Chelsea star has thrown his full support behind the Super Eagles, urging the team to go all out for the title.
In a post shared on social media, Mikel Obi, a member of the Nigeria squad that annex the AFCON title in 2013 encouraged the current squad to give their all on the continental stage.
“Bring it home, lads!” he wrote on Instagram while backing the Super Eagles for AFCON success in Morocco.
Meanwhile, head coach Eric Chelle has officially released his final 28-man squad, meeting the December 11 deadline set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Nigeria will compete in Group C, where they face Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. The Super Eagles will open their account at the continental mundial against Tanzania on December 23, 2025.
