Arsenal are emerging as serious contenders for Bayer Leverkusen’s 19-year-old talent Christian Kofane, though the race for the promising prospect is intensifying across Europe.

The Cameroonian forward, who has drawn attention for his technical ability and versatility, has reportedly caught the eye of several Premier League and European clubs. While confirming Arsenal’s interest, Kofane’s agent, Eric Depolo, stressed that other top sides are closely monitoring the young attacker.

“Yes, Arsenal’s interest is genuine. The manager (Mikel Arteta) likes him very much,” Depolo told the Daily Arsenal, highlighting the positive relationship between Kofane and the Gunners’ coach.

However, the agent was quick to underline that the London club is far from alone in the pursuit. “Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton, Brentford, Barcelona and Bayern Munich” are all tracking the player, he revealed, signalling a highly competitive market for Kofane’s signature.

Despite the wide interest, Depolo suggested Arsenal might hold a slight advantage. He cited linguistic and cultural connections, noting that Kofane speaks Spanish like Arteta and that William Saliba, a key figure at Arsenal, hails from Cameroon, sharing Kofane’s heritage.

“I think it’s too early to say, but… I would say that Arsenal are in the driver’s seat,” he added, hinting that personal rapport and familiarity with the club environment could influence the young star’s decision.

The forward’s ability to adapt across multiple attacking positions aligns with Arteta’s evolving system, making him an attractive target amid stiff competition from both domestic rivals and European giants.
