Eberechi Eze is set to make his first Premier League start in almost two months after being named in the lineup for Arsenal’s clash with Brentford.
The creative midfielder has recently seen more minutes, and Mikel Arteta believes this is the right moment to trust him from the start.
Before the game, Arteta was asked why he had decided to hand Eze a place in the starting XI. “He’s played a lot of games obviously, and has the qualities that against any opponent, he can decide a game,” the Arsenal boss explained, underlining the difference-making talent Eze brings in the final third. Arteta added: “He’s had more minutes recently and he deserves to play.”
The decision highlights Arteta’s confidence in Eze’s form and fitness after his spell out of the starting lineup. It also offers the 27-year-old a big opportunity to re-establish himself as a key attacking option in a crucial phase of Arsenal’s season.
With his flair, ball-carrying ability, and eye for goal, Eze will be eager to repay his manager’s faith under the lights against Brentford.
