Ahmed Hossam “Mido,” former star of Zamalek, discussed the relationship between the White Castle and Al Ahly ahead of the anticipated Egypt Cup final between the two teams.
The Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek is set to take place today, Friday, at the “First Park” stadium in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking in a televised interview on “On Time Sports” channel, Mido remarked, “We were brought up at Zamalek to respect Al Ahly.
It’s a great club with a huge fan base.”
He added, “Al Ahly has a rich history, and since I was young within the club, there was never a moment where I diminished respect for Al Ahly or spoke poorly about them.
I am a Zamalek supporter, and my connection to the club comes from my family.”
The Al Ahly versus Zamalek match is scheduled to kick off today at 7:30 PM Cairo time and 8:30 PM Mecca time.
It’s worth noting that the team winning the Egypt Cup title will receive a golden shield presented by the Riyadh Season, entirely coated in gold, with an approximate value of $125,000.
