Ahmed Hossam Mido, a prominent figure in the Zamalek Planning Committee, has vowed to take swift legal action against anyone attempting to pressure or intimidate officials in the Egyptian Football Association, the Egyptian Clubs Association, or the Competitions Committee.
Mido made these statements via his official “X” account, following recent tensions involving certain individuals stirring controversy in Egyptian football. “What has been done by those stirring sedition will not go unpunished,” Mido declared. He stressed that the club’s legal team is prepared to act against any party undermining the integrity of the game.
The Zamalek official also called for a safe and respectful environment for Egyptian football fans, urging that stadiums remain places of enjoyment and friendly competition. He emphasized that this goal could only be achieved if the instigators of unrest were held accountable.
The controversy was sparked by remarks from journalist Ahmed Shoubir, who criticized the failure to punish Zamalek supporters for misconduct during the recent derby against Al Ahly. Shoubir also targeted the leadership of the Competitions Committee for alleged mismanagement.
