Michael Olise scores hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrash Union Berlin 7-0

Bayern Munich moved temporarily top of the Bundesliga after a dominant 7-0 victory over Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena on Friday.

The result took the Bavarian side to 10 points from four matches, while Union’s difficult start continued as they remained 16th with just one point.

Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finding the net with a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area.

Bayern were awarded a penalty 20 minutes later when Michael Olise was brought down by Union defender Roth. Harry Kane converted with a firm shot into the goalkeeper’s left-hand corner to score his 100th Bundesliga goal.

Olise then added Bayern’s third shortly before half-time. The Frenchman received the ball near the edge of the area in the 43rd minute and produced a precise finish into the near corner.

Bayern continued to control the match after the interval and extended their advantage in the 54th minute. Olise delivered an accurate cross from the right and Kane met it with a powerful header to make it 4-0.

Ismael Saibari scored Bayern’s fifth in the 70th minute, claiming his first goal for the club. The midfielder collected a pass from Alphonso Davies, worked his way past the Union Berlin defence and finished calmly after going through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

It was Saibari’s first goal in his seventh appearance in all competitions since joining Bayern Munich from the German club in the summer.

Olise completed his hat-trick three minutes later. A long through ball sent him clear of the Union defence and he rounded the goalkeeper before seeing his effort rebound off the post and cross the line.

The French forward completed Bayern’s emphatic win in the 76th minute with a fierce long-range strike that the goalkeeper could not keep out.

Bayern’s seven-goal display secured a fourth successive match without defeat in the Bundesliga and delivered a comprehensive setback to a Union Berlin side that had no response after falling behind.
