Michael Olise explodes on social media
Michael Olise, having delivered an exceptional Bayern Munich season, became a true France national team star alongside Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembele.
The 24-year-old winger was named man of the match against Senegal in France’s 2026 World Cup opener, earning the honor despite Mbappe’s two goals.
Bayern Munich signed Olise in July 2024 from Crystal Palace on a five-year contract until 30 June 2029.
According to Sporsora expert Pierre-Olivier Bodin, Olise’s media explosion is recent: “On social media, he really exploded since the Champions League knockout phases. Between April and May alone, he gained 1.7 million Instagram followers. Between mid-May and today, he added another 430,000.”
Sporsora’s general director Aurelie Dyevre explains the connection: “Young people truly identify with Michael Olise. Many would be like him: wouldn’t dare or want to speak publicly, preferring to be discreet. It’s particular, but it’s his universe and he attracted many people.”
Olise’s reserved character, combined with his extraordinary performances, has drawn significant attention beyond the pitch. His social surge reflects how young fans resonate with athletes who prefer quiet professionalism over loud public personas.
