Michael Olise draws Zidane comparison from Dugarry

Michael Olise’s sparkling display in Bayern Munich’s 5-4 defeat to PSG has left Christophe Dugarry convinced France are witnessing something special.

The former France international was effusive in his praise for the Bayern and France star after Tuesday’s thriller.

“We don’t realize what we’re witnessing; he’s an extraordinary player”, Dugarry said on RMC’s show Rothen S’enflamme on Wednesday, underlining just how rare Olise’s talent is.

He even dared to mention a legend: “I might be going a bit far, but I think there’s a bit of Zidane in this guy, in his slightly nonchalant way of controlling the ball, playing with his body, moving between the lines, in his vision of the game…”

For Dugarry, this is only the beginning. “We are witnessing the birth of a star. We are at the beginning of what he is capable of doing.” He highlighted Olise’s complete profile, adding: “I think he’s really something special. He’s capable of everything! He can score, pass, he runs…” Dugarry even pointed to his domination of Nuno Mendes, concluding: “Who else has given Nuno Mendes such a hard time? Nobody! We’re at the beginning of something gigantic.”
