Michael Olaha: Nigeria striker joins Cong An HCMC on a free transfer

Nigeria centre-forward Michael Olaha has joined Cong An HCMC from SLNA FC on a free transfer, completing a move between two V.League 1 clubs.

Olaha, 30, leaves SLNA FC for Cong An HCMC after the transfer was completed on 1 August 2026. The deal brings the experienced Nigerian forward to a new club in the same Vietnamese top-flight competition, with no transfer fee involved.

The move gives Cong An HCMC a centre-forward who has been operating in Vietnamese football, while SLNA FC lose a player who occupied a recognised position at the top of their attack. Olaha’s role is clearly defined as a central striker, rather than a wide forward or midfielder, and his arrival adds a specialist option to Cong An HCMC’s squad.

Olaha’s listed market value is €325,000, although the move itself was completed without a fee. His nationality and position make him one of the club’s overseas attacking additions, while his age places him among the senior players in the squad.

The transfer also keeps Olaha in V.League 1, avoiding a change of country or competition. He moves from SLNA FC to Cong An HCMC as a free agent, with the switch formally completed on the recorded transfer date.

No contract length has been announced, and there are no details of a separate loan arrangement or purchase clause attached to the deal. The available transfer details instead establish a direct free move from one Vietnamese top-flight club to another.

Olaha has therefore ended his time with SLNA FC and begun a new chapter with Cong An HCMC, completing his transfer on 1 August 2026.
