Rest in Peace Father.” Essien had recently returned to the Ghana national team after a two-year absence. A decision on his participation in the upcoming match will be made on Monday. This year, several Ghanaian players, including Anthony Annan, Asamoah Gyan, and Issac Vorsah, have lost a parent.
