Mezian Mesloub Celebrates Goals for RC Lens

Mezian Mesloub scored twice in two minutes for RC Lens as the 16-year-old midfielder continued his rapid development with a decisive performance in the club’s pre-season victory over US Boulogne.

The young midfielder found the net in the 56th and 57th minutes to help Lens secure a 4-1 win in a match that had remained closely contested until his sudden impact.

His back-to-back goals shifted the momentum in favour of Lens and highlighted the teenager’s growing influence within the first-team setup.

Mesloub has enjoyed a breakthrough period with the French club and is quickly establishing himself as one of Lens’ most exciting young prospects.

The left-footed player had already attracted attention after scoring his first Ligue 1 goal against Nantes in May, showing that he can make an impact beyond youth football.

The midfielder, who is the son of former Algerian international Walid Mesloub, has taken advantage of opportunities with the senior squad as he continues to develop.

His performances have demonstrated confidence, attacking ability and a maturity beyond his years, strengthening his position in Lens’ plans for the future.

His progress has also increased interest surrounding his international allegiance. Mesloub currently represents Portugal at Under-17 level, but his international future remains undecided.

Because of his Algerian heritage through his father, the Lens player remains eligible to represent Algeria and could still choose to switch his sporting nationality.

He has not yet made a final commitment to Portugal’s senior national team, leaving the possibility of a future move to the Algerian national side open.

Mesloub’s continued improvement could encourage the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) to make an approach before Portugal fully includes him in its long-term plans.

For now, the teenager remains focused on his development at Lens, where each first-team appearance provides another opportunity to prove his ability.

His latest two-minute scoring burst against Boulogne has further strengthened his reputation as a player with significant potential.

As his career continues to progress, attention will remain on both his performances at club level and the decision he eventually makes regarding his international future.
