Mexican giants Club América eye move for DR Congo midfielder Samuel Moutoussamy
DR Congo international Samuel Moutoussamy has emerged as a transfer target for Mexican giants Club América following an impressive displays at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced midfielder is currently under contract with Greek Super League side Atromitos F.C. until 2027, but reports suggest he could be on the move before the new season gets underway.
Club América are understood to have been impressed by the 29-year-old’s performances on the international stage and are now considering a move to bring the Congolese midfielder to Liga MX.
Despite Atromitos securing Moutoussamy on a long-term contract, the Greek club could be tempted to negotiate if an offer meets the player’s reported release clause, which is believed to be around €1.20 million.
Should the transfer materialise, it would mark a major milestone in Moutoussamy’s career, as it would be his first experience playing outside Europe after spending his professional career on the continent.
Known for his composure in midfield, ball-winning ability and tactical intelligence, the DR Congo international could add valuable experience and stability to Club América’s squad as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
With interest from one of Mexico’s biggest clubs continuing to grow, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether Moutoussamy swaps the Greek Super League for Liga MX in what would be one of the notable moves involving an African international during the summer transfer window.
