Junior Malanda, the Belgian international and defensive midfielder of Congolese origin, is set to leave the Belgian championship for the Bundesliga. He is expected to join Wolfsburg after announcing his departure from Zulte-Waregem, his current club, on Twitter. The 19-year-old player arrived at Zulte Waregem in 2012 from Lille, and he was transferred to Wolfsburg last summer, subsequently loaned back to Zulte Waregem for six months. Wolfsburg has confirmed the move and highlighted Malanda’s progress and experience as factors in exercising the option to bring him to the Bundesliga. The young player is signed for five years with Wolfsburg.
