Here’s a joke that might not sit well with Toulouse supporters, especially after losing Aymen Abdennour, one of their top central defenders, to Monaco.
On Thursday, in a move to create some buzz, Toulouse FC organized a mock press conference to announce the signing of a player named Thomas Ntop. The Ligue 1 club claimed that Ntop, a 38-year-old striker, had just arrived from Cameroon, where he had spent six months at Tonnerre de Yaoundé. Toulouse stated that Ntop had been courted by clubs like Chelsea and various others across different divisions in France, and he had chosen to join them to prepare for the World Cup.
In reality, the supposed new signing was not a football player at all. It was actually the actor Thomas N’Gijol, accompanied by his friend Fabrice Eboué. They were in Toulouse to promote their new film “The Crocodile of Botswanga.” Quite the humorous twist!
