Ghanaian striker Majeed Waris has emerged as a standout player for Valenciennes in the second half of the Ligue 1 season, attracting interest from major European clubs. His agent, Phil Radley, revealed that several European clubs are keen on acquiring Waris due to his impressive goal-scoring record since January.
Radley mentioned that representatives from English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch clubs have recently attended matches at the Stade du Hainaut to watch Waris in action. While there is significant interest in the player, Waris is focused on preparing for the upcoming World Cup with the Ghanaian national team and doesn’t anticipate any immediate changes before August.
Waris is currently owned by Russian club Spartak Moscow, and while a move to a major European league seems likely, a return to Spartak cannot be ruled out, especially with recent coaching changes at the club. Waris intends to begin preseason with Spartak but will reassess his options if he doesn’t receive the assurances he desires.
