According to the German daily Bild, Anthony Modeste, the 25-year-old striker from Girondins de Bordeaux, is reportedly a target for Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. Modeste has become the priority for Stuttgart after negotiations for the recruitment of Norwegian-Moroccan striker Mohammed Abdellaoue from Hanover 96 fell through.
VfB Stuttgart is not the only German club interested in Modeste, as Hoffenheim is also mentioned as a contender for the Martinican center forward. Modeste, who spent the current season on loan at Bastia, had an impressive performance in Ligue 1, scoring 15 goals.
In addition to interest from German clubs, Modeste is reportedly being courted by French teams Reims and Saint-Étienne. His contract with Girondins de Bordeaux is set to expire in June 2014, adding further intrigue to his potential transfer during the upcoming transfer window.
