Alaixys Romao Committed to Olympique de Marseille for Next Season
Alaixys Romao has reaffirmed his commitment to Olympique de Marseille, quashing speculation about a potential summer departure. The 30-year-old Togolese international, who has been a regular fixture in the club’s midfield since his arrival, remains an integral part of the team and is set to continue his tenure at the French giants.
Romao has been one of the most utilised players in the Marseille midfield, underscoring his value to the team. Despite frequent media reports linking him to a move away from the Velodrome, the defensive midfielder appears content with his situation and is eager to remain in the south of France.
In an interview with RMC, Romao confirmed that he would be staying at Marseille for the upcoming season. “With the European Cup, it’s definitely easier to retain your key players. Personally, I still have two years left on my contract, so I’ll still be an Olympian next season,” said Romao, putting to rest any doubts about his future.
The Togo international joined Marseille after stints at clubs including Le Havre and Lorient, where he built a reputation as a reliable and industrious defensive presence. His steady performances at OM have earned him the trust of coaches and fans alike, and his role in helping the club qualify for European competition next season only strengthens his importance to the squad.
As Romao prepares for another season in Marseille, his future at the club seems secure, with the midfielder looking forward to contributing to the team’s European aspirations.
