Arnold Mvuemba Draws Premier League Interest as He Thrives at Lyon
Lyon midfielder Arnold Mvuemba, who has battled through an injury-hit period, is now flourishing at the club and attracting attention from top Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Everton.
The Franco-Congolese player, who previously played for Lorient, has steadily regained his form and secured a key role in Lyon’s midfield. His growing influence at the club has not gone unnoticed, with both Liverpool and Everton reportedly keeping a close eye on his performances.
Speaking to Le Progrès this Wednesday, Mvuemba acknowledged the interest from both Premier League sides but insisted that his focus remained on his current form and contributing to Lyon’s success. “Personally, I wasn’t asking for anything. My goal was to get into the swing of things and put my skills to work for the team,” Mvuemba explained.
The 31-year-old confirmed that there had been contact with Liverpool, as well as a “very serious” approach from Everton, but he added that he was not actively seeking a move at this stage. “My suitcase wasn’t packed yet,” he said, suggesting that while the interest was real, he remained committed to Lyon for the time being.
Mvuemba’s rise at Lyon is seen as a testament to his resilience after a series of setbacks earlier in his career. Having initially struggled to find consistent playing time, he is now enjoying a period of stability and playing an important role in Lyon’s midfield, which has led to increased recognition from scouts abroad.
As the next transfer window approaches, Mvuemba’s future remains uncertain, but for now, the focus remains on his continued development at Lyon.
