Modibo Diakité, the former Lazio defender, may soon make a return to the Italian championship after departing last June. The Franco-Malian player is reportedly on the verge of joining Serie A club Fiorentina on loan from Sunderland, where he has only made seven appearances in the Premier League.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Diakité is currently finalizing the terms of his contract with Fiorentina. Although the official announcement is yet to be made, the deal is said to be in its final stages, with all the necessary details already resolved. Diakité, aged 26, previously had a six-season stint in the Italian league with Lazio from 2006 to 2012.
