Salomon Kalou is expressing a desire to make a return to the Premier League, and Chelsea, his former club, is reportedly showing interest, according to the Daily Mirror. The Ivorian forward, who currently plays for Lille, is attracting attention from various Premier League clubs.
While Kalou expresses contentment with his current situation in Lille, he acknowledges the possibility of a Premier League return in the future. He mentions, “I am happy in Lille but I could return to the Premier League in the future. I had the opportunity to go back this summer, but I decided to stay in France.” Kalou reveals that Lille accepted an offer from West Ham, but he opted to remain with the French club, emphasizing his gratitude for their support and expressing his goal to regain top form in this World Cup year.
After being linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham, Chelsea has emerged as a potential destination for the Ivorian international. This holds significance as Kalou was a Chelsea player from 2006 to 2012 before making the move to France and joining LOSC. With a release clause of €3 million, Kalou is also drawing interest from Besiktas and Roma in the ongoing winter transfer window.
Having scored 6 goals in Ligue 1 this season and a recent double in the Coupe de France, Kalou has been in good form with LOSC, currently standing third in the Ligue 1 standings.
