Junior Malanda is contemplating a potential move to the Bundesliga in January. The Belgian midfielder of Congolese origin is currently playing for Zulte Waregem, having been loaned to the Belgian club by Wolfsburg. Following Zulte Waregem’s elimination from the Europa League, Malanda, who hasn’t played for Wolfsburg yet, expressed his interest in exploring the German championship.
“Now that we are eliminated, the situation has changed,” Malanda admitted after Zulte Waregem’s defeat against Rubin Kazan (0-2). He expressed a desire to experience the German league but mentioned the need to discuss the matter with both clubs. Malanda emphasized the importance of playing for the rest of his career and stated that if he moves to Germany, he wants to ensure he gets his chance after the winter break.
One of the conditions for the extension of his loan to Zulte Waregem was the qualification of the Flandrian club for the round of 16 of the Europa League. Last season, Malanda had a breakout performance with Zulte Waregem, leading to a transfer to Wolfsburg, who subsequently loaned him back to Zulte.
