The Clasico rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid is extending to the transfer market. While Barcelona recently acquired the Brazilian star Neymar, Real Madrid is eyeing Gareth Bale as their priority for the upcoming transfer window. Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, indicated that they would be open to discussions if Real Madrid showed interest, although the player is currently under contract with Tottenham. Real Madrid President Florentino Perez mentioned that the recruitment of Neymar cost €150 million and stated that Bale is worth even more. Zinedine Zidane has reportedly been assigned the task of convincing Gareth Bale to join Real Madrid. Despite the hefty transfer price tag, Real Madrid is keen on securing the services of the Welsh midfielder. Tottenham, on the other hand, might make efforts to retain Bale by offering him a contract extension and an increased annual salary of €7.5 million.
