Memphis Depay’s time at Corinthians may be shorter than expected, with reports suggesting the Dutch forward is open to leaving Brazil as interest grows from clubs in the Gulf region.
After some bright moments in São Paulo, he is now believed to be seeking a new challenge and is no longer fully settled in South America.
Depay joined Corinthians as a free agent on a two-year contract on September 9, 2024, following his departure from Atletico Madrid. The move came during a difficult period for the club, marked by financial problems and a fight against relegation in Série A.
He made his debut as a substitute on September 21, 2024, in a 3-0 league win over Atlético Goianiense, and scored his first goal with a stunning free-kick in a 5-2 home victory against Athletico Paranaense on October 18, 2024.
According to Foot Mercato, Dubai side Shabab Al-Ahli are monitoring Depay, while Al-Wasl have already submitted an offer.
The Netherlands’ all-time leading scorer is in no rush, though, and is waiting for a proposal that fully matches his financial and sporting expectations before deciding his future.
