Egypt’s national football team is on the brink of welcoming Pyramid FC’s midfielder, Mehndi Lashin, into its ranks as they gear up for the impending Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to kick off on January 13 in Ivory Coast.
Lashin’s potential inclusion comes as a response to the absence of Ahmed Nabil Koka, the Al Ahly midfielder, who has been sidelined due to injury.
Mehndi had initially been part of the provisional squad for AFCON but was subsequently omitted from the final list.
However, the recent setback with Koka’s injury has paved the way for Lashin to be reconsidered for inclusion, bringing renewed anticipation for the player.
The Pyramid FC midfielder brings a wealth of international experience to the table, having featured prominently for the national team in various international competitions under the management of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.
Lashin has showcased an outstanding level of performance since joining Pyramid FC during the previous summer transfer window from Future FC.
He swiftly became a cornerstone for the club, earning a reputation for his consistent and exceptional contributions to the team.
