Contrary to earlier reports, Mehdi Mostefa, who recently helped Algeria qualify for the next World Cup, has denied extending his contract with AC Ajaccio. The midfielder clarified the situation, stating, “I did not extend my contract with Ajaccio. I learned about this late this morning through messages from my friends.”
Mostefa emphasized that there are currently no discussions for a contract extension, and he maintains a good relationship with AC Ajaccio’s president. While other clubs, including Bordeaux, Nice, and Saint-Etienne, have shown interest in the Algerian international, Olympique de Marseille (OM) has also entered the picture.
In an interview with Eurosport, Mostefa acknowledged OM’s interest, stating, “Yes, I know that OM is following me. But, I have no direct contact with this club.” He further explained that while he is aware of OM’s interest, it is crucial to differentiate between being followed and signing with a club. Mostefa expressed his openness to the challenge, saying, “So, you have to take this with a grain of salt. However, I don’t think many players would refuse to take on such a challenge.
