Mehdi Dorval’s agent has dismissed recent speculation linking the Algerian U23 international to a potential move to Serie A giants Napoli, calling the reports “fake news.”
Dorval, who has been a standout performer for Bari in Serie B this season, was reportedly attracting interest from Napoli ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
However, in an interview with Calcio Napoli 24, his agent made it clear that no such discussions had taken place and downplayed the validity of the rumours circulating in the Italian media.
The 23-year-old right midfielder has been an integral figure for Bari throughout the current campaign, contributing significantly to the club’s performances.
In 17 appearances across all competitions, Dorval has scored four goals and provided three assists, earning praise for his consistency and attacking flair.
Despite his impressive form, Dorval’s representative firmly denied any contact with Napoli, stating that the speculation surrounding his client’s future was unfounded.
“There is nothing concrete regarding Napoli,” the agent confirmed, reiterating that Dorval remains committed to Bari for the time being.
Dorval, who is under contract with Bari until June 2026, continues to grow in stature and attract attention for his performances in Italy’s second tier.
According to Transfermarkt, the Algerian is currently valued at €1.4 million, a figure that could increase should his form continue to improve.
While a move to a top-tier club may be a possibility in the future, the focus for Dorval remains firmly on Bari, where he is playing a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of promotion.
The denial from Dorval’s agent serves to clarify speculation as the transfer rumour mill heats up.
However, with his current trajectory, it seems inevitable that the talented midfielder will attract further interest when the summer transfer window opens.
For now, Dorval remains a key player for Bari, and his continued development in Serie B will be closely watched by clubs across Europe.
