Richards Bay have secured the services of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane on loan until the end of the season.
The move comes after the 29-year-old endured a difficult spell at Chiefs, having been sidelined due to a car accident that left him with a fractured jaw.
Mdantsane, who joined Chiefs from Cape Town City ahead of the previous campaign, has yet to feature this season under head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Following a successful recovery from surgery, the midfielder is now fully fit but has struggled for game time at the Soweto giants, prompting the club to arrange a temporary switch to Richards Bay.
His arrival is expected to bolster Richards Bay’s attacking options, as the club faces a challenging season.
They have managed only five goals in 14 league matches, conceding 15, and currently sit third from bottom in the Betway Premiership standings—just one point above Royal AM.
Born in Mpumalanga, Mdantsane will be aiming to use this opportunity to regain his form and push for a return to Chiefs next season.
His contract with the Glamour Boys runs until 2026, giving him time to re-establish himself within the squad.
A graduate of the Kaizer Chiefs academy, Mdantsane has built a solid career in South African football.
His achievements include captaining Baroka FC to victory in the 2018 Carling Knockout final, where they triumphed over Orlando Pirates on penalties in Port Elizabeth.
Over the years, he has amassed 212 appearances in all competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing 20 assists.
