MC Alger kept their title hopes alive with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Biskra Union in the 23rd round of the Algerian Football League on Saturday.
The narrow result was enough to stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points, moving them to 44, ahead of second-placed Shabab Belouizdad.
The decisive moment came in the 49th minute when Ayoub Ghazala found the net, sealing the three points for Mouloudia. The loss leaves Biskra Union rooted to the bottom of the standings with 19 points, still in 16th place and facing the growing threat of relegation.
Elsewhere in the league, Mouloudia El Obeid claimed a 2-1 win over Olympique de Chelf. Khairuddin Twal opened the scoring in just the third minute before Islam Chahrour doubled the advantage in the 30th. Olympique de Chelf responded with a goal from Belkacem Brahimi in the 58th minute, but it wasn’t enough.
Mouloudia El Obeid now sit in sixth place with 33 points, while Olympique de Chelf remain eighth on 28.
