MC Alger has bolstered its attacking lineup with the signing of 19-year-old striker Amine Messoussa from French club Lille OSC. The Algerian outfit announced the acquisition of the French-Algerian forward in an official statement on Friday, confirming that Messoussa has inked a three-year deal with the club. His arrival comes at a crucial time for MC Alger, as they seek to rebuild their offense following the departure of star forward Youcef Belaïli to Espérance de Tunis.
Messoussa, born in Lyon to Algerian and Moroccan parents, is a versatile striker who has represented both Morocco at the U17 level and France at the U18 and U19 levels.
his signing marks a significant moment in his young career, as he hopes to make an impact in professional football with MC Alger, a club that recently advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
“I am very happy and proud to have signed here,” Messoussa said after sealing the deal with the Algerian club.
“We’ll see each other very soon on the pitch.” The young forward also took the opportunity to thank his former club Lille and its supporters in a heartfelt message shared on Instagram.
“Dear supporters, it’s time for me to say goodbye.
These four years have been wonderful, where I completed all my training, signed my first professional contract, played my first minutes in Ligue 1, and scored my first goal at Pierre Mauroy.
I want to thank everyone—the fans, the staff, the educators, the volunteers, the coaches—who helped me achieve my dream.
I will always be a Dogue,” he wrote, expressing his gratitude for his time at the club.

Despite his potential, Messoussa’s stint at Lille failed to fully take off.
He made just one appearance in Ligue 1 during the 2022-2023 season, struggling to secure consistent playing time.
Early in the 2023 season, he featured in a Europa Conference League match and managed to score a goal in a French Cup match, but opportunities for first-team football remained scarce.
As a result, he was loaned out mid-season to Villefranche, a National (third-tier) club in France, where he played 11 matches, netting two goals and providing one assist.
Though his performances at Villefranche were modest, Messoussa’s track record in Lille’s youth and reserve teams highlights his potential.
Over four seasons, he made 74 appearances across various competitions, including the UEFA Youth League and National 3, scoring an impressive 37 goals and contributing five assists.
Now, with his move to MC Alger, the 1.80m forward has the chance to prove himself on a bigger stage and fulfill the promise he showed as a youth player.
MC Alger will be hoping that Messoussa can help them in their quest for success in both domestic and continental competitions, with the Algerian club eager to make an impact in the CAF Champions League.
For Messoussa, this move represents a fresh start and a vital opportunity to launch his professional career in earnest.
