MC Alger secured their place in the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League with a convincing 5-0 victory over ASN Nigelec on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
The Algerian champions had been held to a goalless draw in the first leg in Niger, but produced a dominant display in the return match at the Ali-la-Pointe Stadium to settle the tie in emphatic fashion.
MC Alger took control in the 18th minute when Siriman Konate opened the scoring. The hosts carried their advantage into half-time before producing four more goals after the break.
Mossi doubled their lead in the 69th minute and added a second goal of the night in the 83rd minute. In between those strikes, Bangoura scored in the 76th minute and Boukholda followed two minutes later to complete the Algerian side’s five-goal haul.
The result means MC Alger progress comfortably to the second preliminary round after scoring five goals across the two legs without conceding.
They will face Rangers International, the champions of Nigeria, in the next round. The first leg is scheduled to take place in Abeokuta between 16 and 18 October, with the return match in Algiers set for between 23 and 25 October.
