MC Alger sealed their place in Algerian football history by claiming their ninth league title after a goalless home draw against ES Mostaganem in the final round on Saturday.
The result may not have sparked celebrations on the pitch, but it was enough to see Le Doyen crowned champions for the second consecutive season, finishing the campaign with 58 points.
Despite the slip at home, MC Alger held on, as closest rivals JS Kabylie couldn’t bridge the gap. Kabylie did their part, edging ASO Chlef 1–0 thanks to a 16th-minute goal from defender Mohamed Reda Ben Chea, but it only brought them to 56 points, two shy of the top.
Elsewhere, CR Belouizdad’s draw against Olympique Akbou saw them slip to third, ending the season on 55 points and confirming their place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
For MC Alger, this triumph adds to past league wins in 1972, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1999, 2010, and 2024. Meanwhile, Mostaganem’s 15th-place finish sees them drop to the Amateur League alongside US Biskra.
