MC Alger aims to rebound against Paradou AC after Cup exit

MC Alger has a golden opportunity to extend its lead at the top of the Algerian League when it visits a struggling MC Oran on Thursday in Round 19.

The reigning champions are riding a three-match winning streak and will be eager to make it four against an opponent that has been far from its best in recent weeks.

MC Oran has struggled both home and away, showing little spark, and their challenge won’t get any easier with the game set to be played behind closed doors due to a spectator ban. Despite the absence of fans, both sides will be desperate to make the most of any chances that come their way.

MC Alger coach Khaled Ben Yahia knows that another win would not only strengthen their title push but also lift the spirits of the club’s demanding supporters. He is expected to field his strongest lineup, though Ivorian forward Kipré Junior remains doubtful with an ankle injury, while captain Ayoub Abdellaoui is suspended.

Meanwhile, second-placed CR Belouizdad faces a stern test against an in-form MCB Oued Sly, knowing any slip could widen the gap in MC Alger’s favor.

MC Alger leads the league with 37 points, five ahead of Belouizdad.
