During this transfer window, young Franco-Senegalese talent Mbaye Niang finds himself in a fortunate position, with several major European clubs expressing interest in securing his services. The striker, who rose from relative obscurity while playing for the modest Caen team, is currently on the radar of prominent clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham, AC Milan, and Arsenal. Everton, another English club, has also recently joined the race for his signature.
Niang’s impressive performance in the closing stages of the season played a crucial role in maintaining Stade Malherbe in Caen, drawing attention from top European clubs. Arsenal took the initiative by inviting the young Senegalese player for a week-long trial, accompanied by a 5 million euros offer at the conclusion of the testing period. However, Caen rejected this initial proposal. Subsequently, Niang visited AC Milan’s facilities at the invitation of the Rossoneri leaders.
The latest contender in the pursuit of Niang is Everton, as reported by The Guardian. The Toffees are reportedly preparing a substantial offer of nearly 6 million pounds to secure the services of the 17-year-old striker, with this move seen as part of compensating for the transfer of their player Jack Rodwell to Manchester City.
Manchester City, under coach Roberto Mancini, is also keen on acquiring Niang, particularly as they consider potential replacements following the departure of Togolese striker Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor. However, as of now, concrete proposals from Manchester City to Caen have yet to materialize. Niang, who made 23 appearances in the previous season in League One, scoring two goals, is expected to assess the facilities of interested clubs before making a final decision on his next move.
