M’Baye Niang’s Future Uncertain as West Ham and Montpellier Lose Interest
AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang’s career trajectory appears increasingly uncertain following a challenging spell on loan at Montpellier. The 19-year-old forward, who made 19 Ligue 1 appearances and scored four goals this season, failed to reignite his form after his move to Italy in 2012.
Montpellier president Louis Nicollin recently confirmed the club would not exercise the option to buy Niang. Furthermore, according to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have also withdrawn their interest, having been unconvinced by the striker’s performance during the last six months.
Niang’s inconsistent on-field form, compounded by off-field issues including a Ferrari accident last February, has cooled the enthusiasm of potential suitors, leaving the young French striker of Senegalese descent at a career crossroads.
