On loan from Galatasaray to Club Brugge, Mbaye Diagne is reportedly looking to return to Turkey during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Senegalese striker has fallen out of favor at Club Brugge following a missed penalty in the Champions League against PSG, which led to tensions with the club and his exclusion from the squad.
Last Tuesday, Diagne was seen at the airport heading to Turkey, despite not being officially called up, sparking rumors of a potential meeting with Galatasaray officials to discuss a transfer. These reports were later confirmed by the Turkish media outlet Sabah.
According to the same source, Galatasaray’s management is open to welcoming Diagne back, especially given that Romanian forward Andonne is sidelined for several weeks. The club sees Diagne as an ideal replacement to strengthen their attacking options.
For the move to materialize, both Galatasaray and Club Brugge will need to reach an agreement, potentially allowing the Senegalese striker to make a significant return to Turk Telekom Stadium as early as January.
