Kylian Mbappe watched his former club Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-2 in the Champions League before preparing for Real Madrid’s meeting with the Catalan side.
The Real Madrid forward followed Tuesday’s match on television and discussed it after scoring in his team’s 4-1 victory over Leipzig on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Canal+, France captain Mbappe smiled when asked about the result and said: “Paris Saint-Germain against Barcelona? It was a great game, who wouldn’t watch it?”
Mbappe, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, said his interest in football meant he would watch matches whenever possible, regardless of the circumstances.
“I love football and I watch it whatever the conditions, but you don’t learn much from games like these,” he added. “It’s the Champions League.”
Real Madrid’s focus now turns to La Liga, with the club due to face Barcelona in the Clasico on Sunday at Camp Nou.
“This week we return to the Spanish league and we will focus on preparing well for it,” Mbappe said.
