Mbabane Black Eagles close in on former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase

Mbabane Black Eagles are close to completing a deal for former Kaizer Chiefs, Baroka and Black Leopards midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase.

The 33-year-old, known as “Stash”, will sign a two-year contract with the Eswatini club once his clearance from Sunrise FC is secured.

Black Eagles owner and chief executive Chief Ally Kgomongwe said the club had not yet announced the move because Ntshangase still needed to be released by his former team.

“Basically, he was playing for a team in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League and we are trying to secure his clearance. Besides that, he’ll have a two-year deal with us,” Kgomongwe told Soccer Laduma.

Ntshangase was on the books of Sunrise FC, who play in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League. He has contacted the club to request the necessary clearance.

“He has written to the club in Limpopo (Sunrise) to request his clearance and once that is done, he’ll be our player. I don’t think there’s an issue there,” Kgomongwe added.

Kgomongwe, a South African businessman, said he wanted to provide opportunities for compatriots who were approaching the latter stages of their careers.

“I don’t want to see them to become redundant. That’s why in the past I had the likes of Thamsanqa Sangweni and Punch Masenamela,” he said.

He believes the Eswatini Premier League offers a more suitable environment than playing in South Africa’s third tier.

“I think the EPL (Eswatini Premier League) is a better league than the third tier at home. I mean, the EPL is a professional set up,” Kgomongwe said.
