Ivory Coast international Maxwel Cornet has officially joined Genoa on loan from West Ham United, the Serie A club has announced.
The 27-year-old forward, who recently had a brief stint with Southampton, is leaving the Premier League to embrace a new challenge in Italy.
Genoa confirmed the signing in a statement: “Maxwel Cornet is a new Genoa player.
The striker born in Bregbo on 27/09/1996 arrives on an interim basis from West Ham, with whom he won the UEFA Conference League in 2023.”
Cornet brings a wealth of experience from both club and international football.
Having started his professional career at Metz, he gained prominence at Olympique Lyonnais, where he made 252 appearances, scored 51 goals, and provided 29 assists during his tenure.
After moving to the Premier League, Cornet had spells with Burnley and West Ham, where he was part of the squad that lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy in 2023.
In addition to his club success, Cornet has made 31 appearances for the Ivory Coast national team, scoring six goals.

His journey also includes representing France at youth levels before committing to the Ivory Coast senior team.
