El Hacen El ID Named Mauritanian Player of the Year at FFRIM Awards 2014
The Mauritanian Football Federation (FFRIM) held its annual awards ceremony Thursday evening in Nouakchott, celebrating the nation’s top footballing talents and contributors. Among the evening’s standout honorees was 17-year-old El Hacen El ID, who was named Mauritanian Player of the Year for 2014.
El Hacen, a rising star in Mauritanian football, has been an international player since September 2013. He made history by becoming the youngest player to participate in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in January 2014 and finished as the top scorer in the national league during the 2013–2014 season. The midfielder currently trains with Spanish club Levante.
The awards ceremony, attended by prominent figures including Ángel María Villar, President of the Spanish Football Federation, and Mauritania’s Minister of Youth and Sports Halimata Sao, paid tribute to excellence across various categories.
