Mateja Kezman, the former football player and current sporting director of the Serbian club KF Vojvodina, has expressed his disapproval of Dutch football legends (Kluivert, Van Gaal, and de Boer) participating in Gay Pride in Amsterdam. In an interview with Alo magazine, Kezman shared his views on the matter.
He stated, “It’s not my place to tell Van Gaal he’s wrong, but if you ask me, I have a problem with that.” Kezman expressed his opinion that promoting events like Gay Pride, in his view, is promoting a “disease” and voiced his disagreement with the Serbian Federation potentially supporting such events in the future. He went on to say, “The Dutch are moving away from Jesus Christ and heading towards spiritual destruction.”
It’s evident from his statements that Mateja Kezman does not support the fight against homophobia in football and holds conservative views on certain social issues. This perspective is contrary to the growing efforts within the football community to promote inclusivity, diversity, and tolerance. Views on these matters can vary widely, and Kezman’s remarks reflect his personal stance on the subject.
