Gand’s decisive strike came midway through the first half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to calmly slot home what would prove to be the winning goal. Despite Tanzania’s spirited second-half response, they failed to break down a disciplined Sierra Leone backline.
Captain Momoh Kamara once again stole the show with another commanding performance in midfield, earning him a Man of the Match award. The dynamic leader continues to be the heartbeat of this Sierra Leone side, inspiring his teammates with every touch.
Tanzania now sit bottom of the group, facing an exit from the tournament. Sierra Leone, meanwhile, will turn their focus to a potentially group-deciding clash with South Africa on May 6th.
