Madagascar showed impressive resilience on Friday afternoon, overcoming Kenya in a pulsating encounter to book their place in the semi-final of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The quarter-final clash was fiercely contested, with both sides creating chances in the first half but failing to find the breakthrough before the break.

Three minutes after the restart, Kenya grabbed the lead when Alphonce Omija struck to send the home fans into wild celebrations. However, their advantage didn’t last. In the 69th minute, Madagascar drew level after Fenohasina Razafimaro calmly converted from the penalty spot.

The game remained 1-1 after full-time and extra time, forcing penalties to decide the winner. In the shootout, Madagascar kept their composure, edging Kenya 4-3 to secure a spot in the last four of the tournament.
