Morocco are through to the knockout stage of the 2024 African Nations Championship after finishing second in Group A.
The North Africans secured second place in the group on Sunday afternoon following a 3-1 victory against DR Congo in their final group game.
Oussama Lamlioui opened the scoring for Morocco in the 8th minute, finishing off a fine assist from Sabir Bougrine.
DR Congo responded just before halftime, with Japhte Kitambala finding the equaliser in the 43rd minute.
After the break, Morocco regained control. Mohamed Hrimat restored their lead from the penalty spot in the 70th minute, before Lamlioui struck again in the 80th minute to complete his brace and seal the win.

The victory confirmed Morocco’s progression to the knockout stage, while DR Congo finished third in Group A with six points, a situation that is not enough to earn the side a place in the quarter-finals.
